I love my dad; I really do. It's just that sometimes he makes decisions that leave me frustrated.
I know he is thinking of my well being, as my mother usually tells me, but then I get in conflict with myself as well. If it's my well being, shouldn't I be the one to decide on that!? Even though I wish I could tell all these to his face one day, I still got a little something in my chest that's preventing me from doing so.
So in our house like every African house (I guess), the father is the one with the ultimate authority. I mean like even when a mother agrees with you on something, it's only until dad accepts that you can go on with it, whether it was a scholarship, a school trip, or even a business plan that you have. Some fathers even decide the dreams of their children.
I wish every African dad would have a great relationship with their children; especially their daughters, accepting them when they want to be different.
The attached picture sums up my feelings about this issue.
